Sales Manager, Louis Agius, is accountable for
the majority of the Company’s business via
the wholesale and retail outlets within the domestic
market. He supervises and coordinates all paperwork/information
handed in daily by the sales representatives.
Louis joined the Company in 1977 as a Sales Representative.
He worked hard for eleven years in this field
and was promoted to Sales Manager. His experience
in the market brought along a successful change
within the sales force. The Company invested in
him by sending him to various courses held by
our suppliers aboard, including sales courses
held by the Strategic Marketing Co. Ltd. (UK).
An energetic sales force ensures maximum distribution
of the Company’s vast range of quality products.
This consists of five sales representatives made
up of three males and two females who service
directly on a daily basis to the wholesale and
retail outlets within their specific areas. Their
duties also include monitoring and collecting
data of all the competitors latest incentives.
Every so often, to tackle stiff competition,
the Company will alocate a sales representative
to increase distribution of a new brand or a ‘slow
mover’. This representative will concentrate
on one brand only for a specific time to establish
or re-establish the brand respectively.
Our sales representatives have also attended
various courses throughout the years.
The wholesale trade have started to import their
own brands namely scotch, vodka, tequila and have
thus become direct competitors. So for the past
three years we have increased the number of direct
sales of the on trade and off trade.
Our Distribution System: Consists of five vans
with eight deliverymen and three store keepers
full time in the warehouse. All over Malta and
Gozo are covered on a weekly basis.
Charles Grech & Co. prides itself that all
requests for deliveries are made within a couple
of days; even one bottle would be delivered to
any address on the island.
